Client counts reported here do not represent annual totals. Rather, the N-MHSS provides a “snapshot” of mental health treatment facilities and clients on an average day or month.

Description of Changes Since the Healthy People 2020 Launch:

In 2014, this objective was added as a new Developmental objective for the TU topic area. In 2015, this objective was moved to measurable. The baseline was set at 24.0% of mental health care facilities offered tobacco cessation counseling in 2010. The target was set at 26.4% using the target-setting method of 10% improvement.
