The Institute of Education Sciences’ What Works Clearinghouse reviews and assesses the quality of education research. It reports on what the evidence indicates about the effectiveness of programs, policies, and practices. The review examines the impact of interventions on these outcomes: cognition, functional abilities, mathematics achievement, phonological processing, social-emotional development, early reading and writing, language competences, oral language, and print knowledge.
