Genital Herpes: Serologic Screening in Adolescents and Adults
Description of Resource:
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends against routine serologic screening for genital herpes simplex virus infection in asymptomatic adolescents and adults, including those who are pregnant. This is a D recommendation, which means the USPSTF recommends against the service. There is moderate or high certainty that the service has no net benefit or that the harms outweigh the benefits.
