Reduce the rate of injury and illness cases involving days away from work due to overexertion or repetitive motion.

Target: 338 injuries per 100,000 full-time workers.

Baseline: 675 injuries per 100,000 full-time workers due to overexertion or
repetitive motion were reported in 1997.

Target setting method: 50 percent improvement. (Better than the best will be used when data are available.)

Data source: Annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, DOL, BLS.
