National Electronic Injury Surveillance System-Work Supplement
The National Electronic Injury Surveillance System -- Work Supplement (NEISS-WORK) is an expansion of the Consumer Product Safety Commission's (CPSC) National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS), used to monitor consumer-product related injuries. NEISS-WORK collects data on all work-related nonfatal injuries and illness treated in U.S. hospital emergency departments, whether or not associated with consumer products. (NEISS data exclude work-related injuries and illnesses.) NEISS data are collected from a nationally representative sample of U.S. hospital emergency departments; NEISS-WORK uses a subsample of those emergency departments for its data collection.
